I know this is an old question, but I can not find an answer. The AutoCad Learning Assistance gives only a black, blank screen. The menus show up on the left, but clicking on them gives no response. I have looked through Advanced Search, I have un-installed Windows Media Player 6.4, and re-installed the one from the ALA CDRom (MP 6.0), and have uninstalled/reinstalled ALA its self, and still can not get it to run. My system is a Micron P400 w/ 128 MB Ram.

I keep Windows 98 updated through Windows Update, so I'm pretty sure all of the latest files are on my computer. Is there a fix? Tim, I had the problem once myself and it was due to well uh Microsoft not really being backward compatible one of the update versions or codecs of the Media Player. I would suggest just installing the one off of the ALA CD in the meantime. I actually downloaded a new Media Player that works (so I thought it was only the one that was installed with the Update MSIE or Update from the Start menu but still not sure what they did and why it did not work. I installed the Media Player from the CD, I installed the Media Player from the link you provided me below. I can go directly to the CD and play the individual AVI files, but cannot make the program run otherwise. Strange problem. If you find out anything else, please let me know.
